chapter 10

" this chapter goes to my teacher * Nada* who won't let me sleep in class ;p "

The sky was dark, it was raining cats dogs and the sound of the thunder kept annoying till I woke up.

No one said we were expecting bad weather today, I hope our road trip won't get canceled.

I went and took a shower and wore proper clothes, I went down stairs where my mum and dad were eating breakfast.

Emily: good morning

Mum: good morning beautiful

Emily: please tell me the trip isn’t canceled!

My dad laughed: don’t worry darling they said it's only for a couple of hours and the weather will calm

Emily: great! So what's for breakfast?

Mum: your dad baked us muffins!

Emily: wow! I didn’t know he can bake

Mum: neither do i!

Dad: well since I woke up early today and couldn’t go buy us breakfast because of the weather I said why not bake?

Emily: I wish there's a storm everyday so we can learn new things about you.

They both laughed

I got a text message

It was from Jeremy!

Jeremy : " are you going today? "

Emily: " yeah! "

Jeremy: " what about the weather? "

Emily: " they said it's only for a couple of hours! "

Jeremy: " well then, take care! "

I smiled!

Mum: why are you smiling?

Emily: mmm nothing just texting a friend, I'll go to my room now. BTW thanks dad the muffins were great!

Dad: you're welcome darling!

I went up to continue packing my bags.

I already packed half of my stuff so there wasn’t a lot of things left.

I kept texting to Jeremy for the last couple of hours and till dad told us to get ready.

Dad: we're leaving in 15 minutes!

Emily: I'm coming!

I carried my bags and went down, one of the things I like about going to that village is that I can be me! And not who I'm faking.

It was a 4 and a half hour road trip since we had to stop every hour.

And we're finally there!

Aaah there's nothing that can describe my feeling in this moment! Passing by each and every corner I have spent my childhood in makes me miss it more and more, these are the kind of places that make you truly miss them!

We reached my grandparents farm in 10 minutes.

I ran out of the cars as fast as I could, I entered the house and went to my grandparents and hugged them like I ever saw them in years, I went to my old bedroom.. it really didn’t change! My toys, my teddy bears, my blankets and my cartoon characters posters hanging everywhere!

I felt like I'm 5 again, I wished I could just stay here and leave everything behind.

After eating lunch, I decided to go out and visit every place! My grandpa offered to join and I was glad!

I suggested we go walking since it's a village, he agreed!

The best thing about this village that it's so quiet and safe, an everybody knows each other!

I first went to my favorite place, the bakery shop!

I used to go there and eat all the cupcakes, even the baker baked a special cupcake and named it after me!

I was shocked to still see it there!

Liam: Emily!

Emily: hey Liam!

Liam: omg it's been a very long time!

I went there and hugged him, Liam is the bakers son " uncle john "

He was my first childhood friend, he is 4 years older than me. So he was 9 then!

Liam: uncle harry didn’t tell us you were visiting!

Emily: grandpa wanted it to be a surprise.

Uncle john: and it's the best on!

Emily: uncle john!!!

I jumped and hugged him even tighter!

He is my second grandpa, or even my dad!

We ate some cakes and talked for an hour.

Emily: it was a delicious cake uncle john, thank you!

Uncle john: you're welcome dear!

Emily:  Liam how about we go for a walk around.

Liam: no problem!

Emily: OK grandpa see you at home!

As we were walking the long roads, I couldn’t help it but think about my childhood memories, and how my life has really changed after we moved to NY, I became a totally different person. And I just realized it all depends on the people who you live your life with, that’s how you become the person you are today, as I once heard this quote " after 5 years from now your won't be different unless you change 2 things about yourself : what you read, and who you become friends with!

I was thinking deeply when Liam stopped walking

Emily: what's wrong?

He smile and pointed at the store

Emily: is this what think it is?

Liam: yes!

Emily: OMG come on let's inter it!

I grabbed his hand and walked as fast as I could!

Once I walked in, I saw that nothing really changed in this store, it was one of my favorites! It used to sell old dolls and toys, books and other historical stuff. Whenever my grandparents come to visit I always ask them to bring books from here!

Emily: Mr.Jonson!

Jonson: Emily! It’s been a very long time!

Emily: I know! The place looks great! Nothing changed as well!

Jonson: I never really liked changing!

Emily: yea, that's what made your store so special.

How's Mrs.Jonson?

The smile fade away, and he looks down

Emily: oh! I'm so sorry!

Jonson: it’s OK, may god bless her soul.

Emily: amen!

Liam: so aren’t you gonna show her the new stuff!

Jonson: yes,yes! Come here

chapter 9

Emily: they're at that gathering, I really couldn’t know what was it

Jeremy: you mean the auction?

Emily: the auction! Of course

Jeremy: what?

Emily: stupid! There're 2 thieves and an auction, what do u think will happen?

Emily: you watch a lot of means

Emily: hey don…. Wait u might be right about that, but whatever you gotta come help me

Jeremy: why do we have to be involved in this? There are securities everywhere, plus we're going back in no time so just forget it

Emily: OMG you're so irritating

He laughed his " tsleek " smile ;p

Emily: fine whatever I'll go to abby

Jeremy: good luck

I walked away thinking there's no one in this world I would hate more than him .. him!

I saw those two guys again, and Shockley… they were wearing security outfits!

I called abby and told her to come ASAP!

After 5 minutes

Abby: I got your message what's the emergency

Emily: we're on a mission

Abby: emily did you watch a movie before going to bed?

Emily: why cant you all believe me!! Im telling you there are criminals here!

Abby: I bet it's CSI Miami

Emily: -__-

Abby: what?

Emily: so you don’t believe me?

Abby: it's not that, I just guess you're over re-acting

Emily: what made you think that?

Abby: well I kinda ran into Jeremy and..

Emily: oh so now you're believing what jeremy's saying about me? That’s just great

Abby: emily..

Emily" save it abby! I'm doing it my self

I walked away feeling nothing but anger! That Jeremy is so gonna ruin my life!

So I tried to look for a place to find out where they keep the stuff they sale in the auction, but that was kinda hard

I went inside the auction looking for the two men but couldn’t find them, I kinda felt something wasn’t right at all

Until I found them opening a door and getting inside there

I followed them and went there, there was a long hallway with 2 doors at the end

I started running so I don’t lose them

I opened the door they went inside to, and it takes you outside the mall to the park next to it

I started looking and found them going inside a small room

..: BOO

Emily : AAAA

Abby: oops, didn’t mean to scare u

Emily: well you did, what are you doing here

Abby: well, we're here to help!

Emily: we?

I looked back and found Jeremy mike, and Tatiana

Emily: I thought you said I was imagining?

Jeremy: maybe I was wrong

Ok that sounded weird

Abby: so found anything?

Emily: well they actually gone to that room " I pointed at it "

Tatiana: let's go them

When we got there

Mike: great the door has a pass code

Emily: emmm anyone got a paper and a pencil?

Tatiana: I think I have one in my bag, here you go

Abby: what's for?

Emily: you'll see

I put the paper on the pass code device and started coloring the paper

Emily: see the most colored numbers on the paper? They are the password

Abby: how did u know

Emily: they are the ones who were used a lot

Jeremy: wow how did you learn that

Emily: well, let's say that what happens when your friends go to the mall and you stay at home reading crime stories

Jeremy: I'm impressed

Emily: thank you

Mike: ok so how are we gonna know the order of the numbers

Emily: well they are " 149960 "

Abby: what could it possibly be?

Mike: it could be a date or something

Tatiana: hey I found it!

All of us: what?

Tatiana: 4\6\1990

Jeremy: and what's that?

Tatiana: the day they opened the mall

I applied the pass code and the door opened!

Abby: nice job Tatiana

We entered walking slowly so they won't hear us

Emily: there they are

Mike: what are they holding?

Emily: it looks like a necklace

Tatiana: OMG it's the diamond necklace

Abby: no it can't be, it's in the safe at the auction

Emily: maybe it's the fake one

Mike: do you think they'll exchange it?

Emily: yea I guess, so they can steal the real one without anyone noticing

Abby: well we need to do something

Mike: guys hide they're coming

 We heard the door closed

Abby: did they leave?

Emily: yea I think so

Mike went to the table : aah guys! Bad news

Emily: what now!

Mike: they took the necklace with them!

Tatiana: ok that’s very bad

Abby: very, very bad!

Jeremy: well we need to follow them!

Abby: how are we gonna get in the auction!

I saw a locker at the corner of the room: I gotta an idea, come on!

I found some clothes in that locker.

Jeremy: k I'm so not wearing this, I look like a waiter

Emily: that’s a suit, you're supposed to look rich and someone who knows what to do

Jeremy: are you giving me hints?

Emily: well I might consider thinking about that

Jeremy: you think you're smart enough just cause you got us in here?

Emily: well..

Abby: GUUUUYYS!! There's no time for fighting we don’t have all day

Jeremy whispered : see where you got us

Emily: excuse me?

Mike: ok come on guys lets go now, just act normal as if we're actually invited

Tatiana: what if we got caught?

Mike: we won't, hopefully

Abby: oh dear

Emily: guys stop it and lets go, everything will be ok I know it

Abby: ok then let's go

We started walking until we reached to the mall, then the auction room.

Tatiana: so what are we really supposed to do?

Emily: just watch the two guys, they'll try to replace the necklace, and when that happens we'll tell one of the securities.

Abby: we'll keep in touch by texting, ok?

Emily: ok, now split and let's go!

Each one of us sat in different seats

Abby texted: I see them beside the door.

Emily: warn the others

Abby: they're changing the necklace!

Emily screamed: stop those two!

They started running after they heard me shout

Jeremy and mike jumped to catch them, while Tatiana, abby and me ran to the main door

We reached the door before

Abby: I don’t think you gentlemen will go anywhere!

Jeremy cached them from behind: but jail I suppose!

" it was suppose to be an action scene but it's hard to write it so imagine it in your head ;p "

After the policemen took them

Mr.mike: well done guys!

Jeremy smiled at me: all thanks goes to Amanda!

I smiled at him

Emily: I would've not done it without you guys too!

Tatiana: we're glad we could help

Mr.mike: okay then let's go to the bus before we get late!

" while walking to the bus "

Jeremy: maybe you're not that bad after all glamorous girl!

Emily: who said a girl who wear heels can't run?

Jeremy: I'm impressed!

I winked: you should be

Abby: Amanda, Jeremy come on!

chapter 8

So we helped them a lot and played with them, it was one of the best days in my life, putting a smile on someone's face even if it was for the smallest thing is priceless <3

So we finished, it was lunch time so we went to the bus to go back to the company.

For somehow plans have changed and we're going to one of Mr.mark friend's company to attend a lecture, I really love those stuff.

"At the bus"

Abby: I really feel sad for them

Emily: I know, I never thought that people actually live like this

Abby: there's a lot in this life that we don’t know about

Emily: you're right

Abby: what happened with u btw?

Emily: what?

Abby: have you decided on what to do?

Emily: on what?

Abby: OMG stupid! I meant with your double life, when are you gonna tell everyone the truth?

Emily: I don’t know it's just so hard

Abby: ofc! No one said it was easy, you just gotta do what you gotta do

Emily: I have to imagine how my life would change when I'll just live one person's life!

Abby: but you're gonna finally be you and stop faking your life

I didn’t say anything, she was right I had to do it.

I just have no idea when.

The bus stopped so I guessed that we arrived.

Abby: the doors didn’t open yet, weird

Emily: I'll go down and check

" it was a 2 floor bys "

I went down to look for Mr.mark and didn’t found him

Jeremy was on the front seat so I had to ask him

Emily: Jeremy?

Jeremy: yea?

Emily: what's going on?

Jeremy: the bus stopped, I think we're out of gas, but Mr. Mark went to bring some from the near gas station.

Emily: oh ok

I was going to return to my seat

Jeremy: Amanda

Emily: yea

Jeremy: don’t forget the biology homework, we're suppose to give it o Tuesday.

OMG he knows? I mean I'm with him at the biology class!

I looked at him in a shocked look

He laughed: don’t worry, it'll be a secret. After all I like this look on you

I smiled and ran to Abby immediately

I sat: omg he knows

Abby: who knows what?

Emily: Jeremy! He knows I'm emily!

Abby: what!

Emily: omg do u think he'll tell anyone?

Abby: aah no I don’t think so

Emily: but what if he did? Omg I'm over

Abby: calm down will you! He's not gonna tell, I mean what's it for him?

Emily: maybe he'll get revenge

Abby: seriously? For what?

Emily: for all the times I've been such a jerk to him?

Abby: you're taking this too far, i mean he loves you why would he hurt you.

Emily: yea I guess you're right, I'm just worried.

Abby: don’t be, everything's gonnna be okay I promise.

I was worried but abby's words made me calm down

One of the guys in our bus came and told us that Mr.mark's ordered us to get off the bus because there was something wrong with it and it's gonna take about 2 hours to fix it

Abby: where are we suppose to go?

The guy: there is a mall nearby

Emily: come on let's go

We went out and started to walk to the mall

It wasn’t a very big mall considering to the ones in New York, but it seems that it was the biggest one in this village.

Tatiana: it's not that bad, look it’s my favorite store.

Mike: I'll go with you.

Abby: ok we'll meet you guys in half an hour. Where do u wanna go?

Emily: I think I wanna go grab a drink.

Abby: me and jasmine will go check the bookstore.

Emily: I don’t wanna go alone.

Jeremy: it's okay I'll come with u.

Great!

 I gave abby a look

Abby: ok then we'll meet in an half hour.

And she walked as fast as she could -_-

Jeremy: are you gonna take too long standing there?

I didn’t answer him and walked in front of him.

He came next to me.

Jeremy: what your problem?

Emily: me? Do you think I have a problem?

Jeremy: aa yea?

Emily: well I'm not the one who's being a jerk here?

Jeremy: a jerk? Well at least someone's is not faking himself doesn’t he?

He walked to the drink bar and left me, well I think his words kinda hurt me.

I followed him

Emily: what did u mean?

Jeremy: mean by what?

Emily: don’t be a fool, what you just said there?

Jeremy: I didn’t say anything.

Emily: look, at least I'm being honest.

Jeremy: huh, honest? Yea right!

We grabbed our drinks and started walking, silently.

Emily: you're not allowed to tell anyone by the way.

Jeremy: who are you to tell me what to say or not to say.

Emily: when it's about other people, and by people I mean me!! That's when you're gonna be ordered.

He stopped and turned to me and smiled.

Emily: what?

Jeremy: what's it for me?

Emily: what do you mean?

Jeremy: I'll keep my mouth shut, but in one condition.

Emily: and that is?

Jeremy: you'll join the math club.

Emily: ok.

Jeremy: as in EMILY, not Amanda!

Emily: what!!! I can't do that.

Jeremy: ok the, kiss your double life goodbye.

Emily: wait, you can't do that!

Jeremy: watch me!

And he walked.

I shouted: you're a big jerk.

Jeremy: you already said that.

I was so full of anger! He really made me angry. Who is he to threaten me?

I walked away from him cause the last thing I wanna do is be with him!

I passed a group of men trying to fix stuff, there was a lot of people and security, there must be something bug in here.

I tried to see what was there but I couldn't, that’s when I accidentally heard someone laugh.

When I looked back, guess who I saw? Those two men from that apartment.
OMG, this might be the plan they talked about.

Do I have to tell someone?

I ran so fast hoping I could find Jeremy anywhere

I found him walking

I came quickly: JEREMY!!!

Jeremy : WHAT!

Emily: you need to come with me RIGHT NOW

Jeremy: and why would I do that??

Emily: because, some men are going to crash that auction

Jeremy: stop it you're not in a movie

Emily: I'm not! remember that day when we went to Mr.Robert's office? When I felt tired and waited for you down stairs?

Jeremy: yea

Emily: that’s when I heard them talking about stealing something big, and now I see them here where there's a big auction with expensive and historical stuff??

Jeremy stared for a while and then he asked : where are they?
